3-Ingredient Chocolate Fudge Sauce
For a healthy and delicious Valentine’s Day treat, whip up a batch of this chocolate fudge sauce made with just three ingredients: dates, almond milk, and chocolate. It takes less than 20 minutes to prepare, and can be served over ice cream, oatmeal, or as a dipping sauce for chopped fruit. It can also be stored in jars and gifted to friends and family for, and because it’s dairy and sugar-free, it makes the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for folks who are on special diets.
3-Ingredient Chocolate Fudge Sauce
Adapted from Top with Cinnamon.
• ½ cup pitted dates
• 1 cup almond milk
• 2 tablespoons cocoa powder or 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolateIn a blender, add the dates and the milk. Process for 2 minutes, or until the mixture is uniform.
Transfer the liquid to a small saucepan, and place over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, and reduce heat to maintain a simmer. Continue simmering until liquid has reached desired thickness.
Remove from heat. Add the cocoa powder or unsweetened baking chocolate and stir until fully incorporated.
Pour the chocolate sauce into a clean, airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week. Serve warm or cold over ice cream, with sliced fruit, in oatmeal, or straight from the jar!
To package my fudge sauce, I used small canning jars, wrapping paper, and personalized tags and labels in the style Casablanca.
