When Elizabeth Arps of Maine and her fiance Allen started planning their wedding they knew that they wanted to include their children in the planning. But how do you get young kids involved without ending up serving hot dogs and root beer at the reception? Elizabeth came up with the great idea to have them draw pictures! They had the kids draw pictures of the bride, groom and family. Elizabeth and Allen drew pictures, too, because they didn’t want to miss out on the fun. The pictures were done in pencil and then sent to the amazing Summer Hopkins Myers at FineDoodles.com. Summer turned the pencil drawings into beautiful full-color pictures. Elizabeth then incorporated the artwork into various things for the wedding: table signs, escort cards at the reception, and these adorable coasters. She simply chose the “Custom” style coaster and uploaded her designs. There were twelve drawings in total but they chose their five favorites to be made into coasters. I think they chose well, don’t you?

Their guests thought so, too. Elizabeth says, “The coasters were a huge hit! At one point the bartender told us he hoped we had more because some guests were digging through the pile on the bar, trying to collect all five designs.”  Elizabeth also notes, “We had so many people comment on them, saying what a personal and unexpected touch they gave to the reception.”
