After reading “Lacy’s Energy Tips” on our Blog homepage sidebar you may be wondering, who is Lacy anyway? A girl of many hats, Lacy is an Evermine staff member, leader of the Evermine Energy Team, and a contributor to the My Own Ideas Blog. We thought we’d finally give her a proper introduction for our readers and ask her a few questions so we can all get to know her a little better.
Hi Lacy! Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?
I have lived in the suburbs of Portland my whole life.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love reading, watching movies, crafts, baking, photography, and interior decorating.
What kind of personal projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I’m working on building a rose garden, redecorating my guest room, learning Spanish.
What inspired you to begin writing weekly energy tips to hand out to the Evermine staff and now to post on the blog?
I decided to share weekly energy saving tips to let people know how making small changes to help the planet can be easy, and hopefully having the knowledge and seeing the savings on their energy bill will be exciting enough to want to know more.
You write about lots of great DIY ideas, including $1 Wedding Favors and Halloween Treat Bags. Where do you get your inspiration?
I LOVE new ideas! I am always thinking of ways to do things a bit different and more interesting. DIY projects are great because you can use your own creativity and create something much cheaper than you would buy in a store and you get to have fun making it. I get some inspiration just surfing the web, and then I may put my own twist on an idea.
How did your early experiences influence your interest in crafts and energy conservation?
I have always loved doing crafts especially as a little girl. It’s always fun to come up with an idea and then craft it and give it to a friend. My husband’s job is in Energy Conservation, so that is how I became interested in that. I now see how important it really is and enjoy learning about it. Being a little “greener” to myself and the environment has been an interesting learning experience and very rewarding.
What is your favorite book, movie, website, blog? Why?
Lately, I’ve really loved reading the Twilight Series. One of my favorite websites is ZenHabits.net. I love this site because it gives great advice on how to better your life.
What are your dreams for your future?
My dream for my future is to start a family, live a healthy, full life and travel the world with my husband.
Lastly, do you have a favorite recipe you can share with us?
Chicken Tomato Pesto Pasta:
Cooked Angel Hair pasta
Chicken sauteed in garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all together in a pot and voila! You’ve got a yummy pasta dish!
