(Used in this project: Rectangle Labels in Henna style.)
Matchbox shrines are one of my favorite craft projects and I thought the idea could transform well into a beautiful wedding favor. Decorate blank matchboxes with personalized labels from Evermine and fill them with small trinkets and treasures that symbolize your love and wedding day. I included the phrase, “Live my the Sun. Love by the Moon.” to match the mood and theme of the new Henna style. The final result turned out beautifully bohemian. Guests will be in awe of such a unique gift and will want to save their Matchbox Shrine as a memory of you and your wedding day!
Matchbox Shrine Favors
To make my Matchbox Shrines I first covered each blank matchbox with 2 rectangle labels (front and back), wrapping around around the lid of the box. I wanted the inside of the box to have some sort of colorful pattern as well, so I found an image online of “La Luna” from the Loteria (Mexican board game) and printed it out and cut it to fit perfectly inside the box.
Next I gathered some small items that were meaningful to me and matched my theme and color. I chose blue duck quill feathers, small glass bottles filled with blue sand and glitter (I found supplies for this at my local craft store), a few tiny shells and beads, gold star confetti and a small piece of paper with the words “With our heartfelt thanks”.
Other trinket ideas: dried flowers, small photos of you, charms, buttons, paper butterflies, worry dolls, polished stones, incense.
Used In This Project:
- Rectangle Labels • I chose the “Henna” style in Deep Blue.
