Last month, I wrote about planning a D.I.Y. wedding, offering tips and tricks that have helped me prepare for my own wedding scheduled for September. This month, I’d like to share something a little different. Our wedding is now less than six months away, so it’s time to start forming the bridal party. For this process, I wanted to make it super fun by turning it into a project, so I’ve ordered some note cards that say, “Will you be my…” on the outside, but are blank on the inside.
Because the cards are blank on the inside, I can customize them for each of the lovely ladies who will be with me on my wedding day by adding doodles, stamps and pictures. I’m especially excited about the card I’ve made for my flower girl.
If you read part III of the D.I.Y. wedding series, you’ll see that I’ve been making lots of little crocheted flowers that are, unsurprisingly, for my flower girl to scatter on the ground while she walks down the aisle. I recently found another purpose for them, however; a way to turn them into hairpins by slipping a bobby pin through the back. I’ll be giving these hairpins to my flower girl as gifts, along with her card, for her to wear on our wedding day!
If you’re savvy with a crochet hook, and you want to learn how to make crocheted flowers, watch this video for a simple tutorial. I think I’ll even follow the suggestion from the video about adding a button, because it’s a super cute way to disguise the bobby pins.
I chose note cards in the style of Love to match all of the tags and labels we’ll be using for our wedding.
