You’re the Balm! All-Natural Lip Balm Recipe

You're the Balm! All-natural lip balm recipe | www.evermine.com_0004
You can find a huge selection of recipes for homemade lip balm on the web, but I wanted to make something extra soothing and moisturizing because the cold weather has been so harsh on my skin this winter. While I was searching for recipes, I decided to make a bulk batch of lip balm to give the extra tins away as uplifting gifts for friends as well!

I ended up choosing a recipe that uses soothing ingredients that my skin loves, and a combination of essential oils that reminds me of one of my old store bought favorites. The rosemary essential oils used in this recipe are subtle enough that you don’t really notice, and help keep your tin of lip balm fresh, while the peppermint essential oils comes through the strongest and add a really nice, refreshing tingle to help keep you alert and uplifted throughout the day.

All-Natural Lip Balm Recipe

Supplies:
1 Tablespoon Beeswax
3 Tabelspoons Coconut Oil
2 1/2 Teaspoons Shea Butter
5 Drops Vitamin E Oil
4 Drops Rosemary Essential Oil
10 Drops Peppermint Oil
2-Ounce Tins
Personalized labels (I used the Caprice style)

Fill a medium saucepan with 1 inch of water and place over medium heat. Place a glass measuring cup with a spout in the water to act as a double boiler. Place the wax, coconut oil and shea butter inside the glass measuring cup and melt together, stirring with a wooden chopstick or skewer. Once melted, remove from heat and add the vitamin E, rosemary and peppermint essential oils. Stir well and pour into 2-ounce tins. Let harden.

Once the lip balm has hardened, place the lids on the tins and package with personalized labels from our shop. For my packaging, I chose a small text label for the bottom of the tin with the list of ingredients, and then ordered a 2-inch circle label for the main packaging on the top of the container.
