Celebrating Another Wonderful Year
The end of a busy December means it’s time to relax and make merry. Here we are doing both at the fabulous Evermine holiday luncheon! The tradition goes like this: We all dress up, close our building and carpool downtown to one of the tallest skyscrapers in Portland.
From a private dining room in an elegant restaurant on the 30th floor, we’re ready to be wowed by spectacular views of the city below – unless it happens to be foggy on holiday lunch day… oh well, there’s plenty more to celebrate. We mingle and chat while enjoying fancy cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Next, we’re seated for the main course and secret Santa gift exchange. Santa sticks to a $5 limit so gifts are often homemade creations, or a favorite food treat, or goofy toy.
While we dine and watch each other open fun surprise gifts, the fog slowly clears. By the time our chocolatey dessert and coffee arrives, we can see not only buildings and streets below, but the forested west hills, the Willamette River and several emerging bridges too. We pack up the party feeling extra fortunate – and full!
