Passover, or Pesach is a time to celebrate Freedom. I keep this core theme of Passover at the forefront of my thoughts, as I furiously clean my home to get rid of any chometz (leavened bread) that may lurk in strangely odd corners. I will admit, having seven beautiful children ranging in age from 2 – 14, have brought not only blessings, love and pureness to my life… but also crumbs! Again, I’m not really complaining, as doesn’t every mother wish to extract pretzel pieces, pita chips, and bagel bites from random Duplo Lego pieces?

As I prepare for the Passover Seder, I wanted to make it extra special. I wanted the extra little things in life, the sweet details, to make our table shine… symbolizing royalty, tradition and deliverance.

In truth, it is the journey of this preparation that brings us to the special feelings that emanate from our Seder table on Pesach night. The crunch of the Matzah, the bitter herbs, the four cups of wine, the singing, the spirit, the customs and tradition. A journey through the dessert which brought us to freedom. A celebration of leaving slavery in Egypt and today in our own lives finding personal freedom from our own borders and limitations… our self imposed slavery.

Each wine glass will sit beautifully on these spring colored coasters, with a matching tag for each bottle of wine. Wine bottles can be used as user-friendly center pieces or as a take-home favor for guests.

And after the seder, way past midnight, I will smile at the new ‘crumbs’ that I will find, invariably, in funny little places like my two year old’s sock drawer… or tucked into another random piece of lego. Similar to the journey to freedom…the journey of bringing spirituality into our lives…’crumbs’ and all.
