With Spring officially here its time to enjoy my favorite flower, the daffodil! One of my favorite springtime activities is taking walks through my neighborhood in NE Portland and seeing all the flowers start to bloom. I especially love all the pops of yellow, which is what inspired my latest project, creating daffodil centerpieces for my friend Sabrina’s wedding! Daffodils are perfect decoration for any kind of springtime event, whether it be a wedding, baby shower, birthday, or Easter.

To make this centerpiece, I cut a bunch of daffodils from my mom’s backyard (she conveniently lives just two blocks away from me and grows lots of daffodils every year!) Flower centerpieces for dining tables are best presented at a lower level than typical bouquets. The reason for this is so guests can easily converse with each other without flowers blocking their view. I chose to place bunches of flowers into small square baskets. Next, I tied a pretty purple ribbon around each basket along with a custom diamond shape tag.

I’m so happy with how they turned out. I hope these simple centerpieces bring cheer to an already joyful event.

  1. Hey Patti, the baskets are about 6 x 6 inches, and you could probably find them (or something like them) at your local craft store, like Michaels.

    Hope that helps!
