Decorated Oreo Tailgate Treats
In the vibrant college community of Manhattan, KS, fall is my absolute favorite time of year. The entire community turns purple, silver and white in honor of its cherished K-State Wildcats football team led by the famed Coach Bill Snyder. From surprise appearances around town by the marching band and the school mascot, to community festivals and Wear-Your-Purple-to-Work Fridays, it’s a fun and exciting home-town experience.
This year I wanted to kick off the start of fall football with something decorative and sweet. I came across these “embellished Oreos” from SoCreativeThings.com, and instantly starting planning my purple, silver and white tailgate treat!
- Oreo Cookies (Double Stuf)
- White Frosting
- Cookie Embellishments – like sprinkles, sparkling sugar and candy pearls
- Icing Decorating Bag with Small Decorating Tip

- Parchment Paper to line the inside of your favor boxes

- Step #1 – Add a couple spoonfuls of cake frosting to your decorating bag with a small decorating tip.

- Step #2 – Squeeze a small amount of frosting around the middle of the Oreo, enough for the cookie embellishments to stick.

- Step #3 – Roll the frosted Oreo in the embellishment of your choice. I chose purple and white candy pearls of different sizes, as well as sparkling silver sugar to match K-State school colors.

- Step #4 – Place the baking sheet parchment paper in the bottom of your Evermine gift box and carefully place 4 embellished cookies inside.

- Step #5 – Add Evermine labels to the top and front of each box for a perfectly custom gift.
I decided to hand out my Oreo Tailgate Treats to friends and family to commemorate the first home football game. I can also see these being very versatile for any occasion. Simply change the cookie embellishments to match your color scheme and you’ve got a fantastic birthday party, baby shower or wedding favor for guests to take home!
