DIY New Year’s Confetti Favors
Here it comes again, it’s almost time to ring in the New Year! I can’t believe that this year is already coming to an end. I’m sure for everyone it’s a time to reflect on where the year has taken us, but it’s also a time to look forward to the unknown and exciting adventures that are yet to be. This year has taken me many places, physically and emotionally for sure, but it has been one filled with weekend adventures exploring the great state of Oregon, and many trips rediscovering my love for Washington. It was basically a love affair with the Pacific Northwest and all the beauty it has to offer. I’m truly grateful to call this place home.
I hope that you have all had an amazing year, too, but if not, here’s your chance for a new beginning, new experiences and new traditions. A couple months ago, I discovered how happy confetti makes me feel, so I started sending them out in birthday cards. But the best time for a big happy confetti mess is New Years, so I’m starting a new tradition of sending out New Years confetti wishes to my friends and family. Just toss when the clock strikes midnight and make a wish.
Here’s how to make your DIY confetti:
To start, all you need is different colored tissue paper and a pair of scissors.
Take two sheets and fold them lengthwise a couple times until you get one long strip. Cut some fringe a couple inches in from the edge, then trim the fringe to desired length.
I like to make little squares of confetti, but you can make yours as big or small as you want.
Add some sequins or glitter for an added sparkle, and finish by making a big confetti mess!
Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!
