Lavender Simple Syrup Recipe
Lavender purple is such a soft, romantic color that it works really well with a wide range of wedding and party themes and colors. That’s why we wanted to put together an idea for a favor that would not only feature this herb’s amazing color, but also its fragrant aroma and flavor.
When we came across this recipe for lavender-honey simple syrup from LolaZabeth.com, we knew we found the perfect idea for our favors. Not only does the color from the dried lavender infuse into the syrup beautifully, but it can also be stirred into unflavored carbonated water for a homemade lavender soda that smells and tastes incredible.
Lavender-Honey Simple Syrup Recipe
Recipe adapted from Food in Jars via LolaZabeth.com
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup natural cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons dried organic lavender
Add all the ingredients to a saucepan, and place on the stove over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, and bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered for ten minutes.
Remove saucepan from heat and allow to cool for five minutes. Strain syrup into a clean glass jar, and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
We paired our lavender simple syrup with these small glass bottles from the Specialty Bottle online shop, and personalized them with celadon colored tags and labels from the Evermine shop. One of our staff members also just so happened to have a large bunch of dried lavender at home, so she brought some in for us to garnish our favor jars. [printfriendly]
