I love re-decorating the house in full Fall regalia. Then I enjoy sitting down about this time and planning out my Thanksgiving menu! I’ve just discovered your site and love it!
One of my favorite fall acitivies(there are many!) is making homemade apple cider with friends and family! Fun!
I always host a pumpkin carving party complete with apple and pumpkin pies, hot apple cider, and “The Great Pumpkin”.
I start early on the homemade food gifts I make for friends. October weather is a reminder that it is time for a batch of meatsauce and the mini lasagna assembly line. The spices in both are what smells like the holiday’s for me.
I also hold a pumpkin carving party every year, and my favorite part is making all the theme food for it!
My favorite fall holiday is All Saints Day – it’s a sad celebration (we lit candles in the cemeteries), but it is so nostalgic and family connecting.

I don’t really have any set fall traditions, but I’d love to start some! 🙂
My favorite tradition is hot spiced cider and making my spiced fresh apple cake with cream cheese frosting.
My favourite thing(s) about fall are pumpkin carving/roasted seeds and the crunch/smell of fallen leaves.
One of my favorite fall traditions is carving the pumpkin for Halloween. You can buy “pre-carved” non-gooey varieties, but really, the goo is a must. 🙂
I really enjoy decorating for Autumn. By combining my Halloween decorations with my Autumn decorations, I am able to spruce up both the house and the yard. Once Halloween is over, I can easily swap those decorations with my Thanksgiving decorations. Once Thanksgiving is over, down come all the Autumn decorations and out come the Christmas decorations.
We enjoy going to the pumpkin patch together. The fall colors are so beautiful and the drive is almost as much fun as the destination!

Our city has a fall apple festival (complete with 10-foot apple pie) that we always like to attend. Lots of crafts and food. We also like going out to the apple orchards to pick from the trees!
