Gift Tag Ornaments

While brainstorming about what delightful Christmas goodies I could pack away in my little Christmas Cheer Packets, I hit upon this idea: personalized handmade Christmas ornaments. Flat ones, of course, so that they could be sent in the mail. Custom hang tags from My Own Labels made up half of this gorgeous and easy little project. After ordering and receiving the tags, one only has to find a decorative paper to hang behind the tag and look beautiful.

The paper I found at a local craft store to use was a pack of sample 6”x6” squares of different holiday designs allowing me to find the background that perfectly fit the tag that I was using.

I used glitter and a scrapbooking pen of gold ink to decorate the edges of my background paper. I used shaped hole punches to have stars and trees at the top of my ornaments.

Thin gold cord (easily obtained at any craft store) completed the project and gave the tags a way to hang from trees or gifts as well as some extra glitter. After I finished my ornament project I happily discovered I had extra hang tags which I have used as gift tags. The back of the tags are blank and are a perfect space to write the name of the gift recipient on.

This was a neat craft that I enjoyed doing with others. Hope you enjoy it too!
