Graduation Favors

My younger brother Dan and I were born eight years apart. In a few weeks, he will be graduating from high school and I can’t believe it! It doesn’t seem that long ago he was running around in diapers, playing with his Batman action figures (yes, as his big sister, I have to embarrass him!). Now he’s all grown up and it’s time to celebrate!

Music is an interest that runs through my family. My dad played guitar, my sister played clarinet, and I played the saxophone. My brother Dan is a drummer. He got a double bass pedal for his 18th birthday and my mom’s house has been shaking to his beat ever since! When thinking of party favor ideas for his graduation party, I knew I wanted to include CDs of his drumming. We set up his drum set in the living room and I took some photos of him playing. Then I ordered CD labels and some square labels using the photos I took. Together we burned some recordings of him onto the CDs and made candy favor bags, choosing M&M’s in his school colors (red and black). I hope our friends and family enjoy taking these home and hopefully, Dan will show off his drumming skills at the party too!
