I am a girl of practicality. Or at least that’s what I’d like to think when it comes to gift-giving. With my best friend’s graduation around the corner, I wanted to give her something that she could not only use, but wanted to use.
My friend, Zaneta, will be graduating grad school with a degree in Speech Therapy. If there’s one thing you should know about our friendship, it is that she and I share an affinity for written correspondence; she was my first pen pal when I moved out of Texas!
Inspired by this, I decided to make her a gift filled with personalized items – things she would not be able to purchase at a regular store.
This is the perfect graduation gift for the young professional – the person who is ready (or getting ready) for adulthood. This basket includes:
The beauty of this basket is that all of the items can be used professionally or personally. The stationery can be sent to potential employers after an interview or as a letter to a friend.
I used the style Caprice because of its simplicity – it’s professional, yet whimsical. There’s something about having your name printed on things that makes it feel so official.
After I ordered all of the basket items, I placed it neatly in a white paper box filled with shredded wax paper. I tied the package with a silk ribbon and one of my personal gift tags (also in the style Caprice). For extra adornment, I picked fresh flowers from the garden and tucked it neatly under the ribbon.
