How To Make Sewn Paper Garlands

- Colored cardstock
- Paper punches, any shape
- A neutral colored thread
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- Gift boxes for storage
Instructions
- Choose your desired color or color combo.
- Choose your paper punch shape (or shapes), and punch as many shapes from each sheet as possible.
- Stack your shapes according to color and size.
- Choose a neutral colored thread and thread your bobbin.
- Place your first paper shape on your sewing machine and begin to sew. Stop once you've reached the end of the shape.
- Add your next shape right after the first has gone through. You can alternate colors or shape sizes to create different patterns and color combinations.
- Keep going until your garland has reached desired length.
- For easy storage, fold your paper garlands accordion-style, and place them next to one another in a gift box.
