A Mother's Day Gift Idea...
Over the past few weeks I’ve been trying to come up with gift ideas for Mother’s Day. Thinking of a unique gift was easier as a child when I could make her some cool macaroni art or tissue paper flowers and she would love it! Now that I’m an adult, those simple kid crafts no longer apply. Instead of buying her real flowers or jewelry (typical mother’s day gifts), I decided this year to give my mom a more functional gift, something I know she will use.
My mom loves to cook. Every time I visit her she is in the kitchen working on a cooking or baking project. Whether it be homemade apple pie for a family get-together, a batch of chocolate chip cookies for my little brother’s high school pep band, or homemade quince paste from the quince trees in her backyard, she is always cooking up something good! This year for Mother’s Day, I’ve decided to help make her food gifting even more special by ordering her custom labels and tags. I chose two different label shapes (a small rectangle label and a large circle label) as a well as a diamond-shape hang-tag. Each label says, “Barbara’s Best” with blank space below for her to write what delicious food she has made. Now every time she sends food to someone she can use her own personalized gift label!
Giving her sheets of labels didn’t exactly make a cute gift, so I decided to cut up the sheet and put the individual labels together into small organza bags, making this unique gift that much more special. I hope you love it, Mom!
