New Holiday Gift Tag Labels + Packaging Inspiration
We confess, one of our favorite things about Christmas is the presents under the tree, but not for the reasons you may think. To us, beautiful packaging can be just as compelling as the mysterious gift that resides inside, and lucky for us, it doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive to put together gift packaging at home that will make a lasting impression.

The initial wrapping of your gift is the easy part. You can use any material you have on hand, whether its something as simple as a sheet of newspaper, or as complex and gorgeous as a roll of vintage wrap. Just grab something that will cover your gift and follow the basic guidelines in this tutorial (alternatively, you can Google “how to wrap a gift” and find a multitude of how-tos on the subject).
Next, grab a length of ribbon, twine, raffia, yarn or string, and tie a bow around your gift. This is an optional step, of course, but it really adds to the look of your gifts, and gives your embellishments something to hang on to.
Speaking of embellishments, some people like to attach extra bows or jingle bells to their gifts. You can even glue on holiday-themed figurines for something totally unique.
Or you can forage outside in your backyard for materials. Sprigs of rosemary or thyme make an excellent addition to your packages, or you can use bits of fern or evergreen as well.
Once you’ve added your embellishments, you’ll need to find a way to address your gift to its recipient. If you’re using a basic gift wrap with no pattern, you could write straight on the paper with a sharpie. We’re particularly fond of Evermine’s Gift Tag Labels, though, because they come in whimsical holiday designs that add the perfect touch.
