Picnic Birthday Smoothie
(Used in this project: Square Labels in Tiny Hearts style.)
Life’s a Picnic! Ok…not always, but my daughter’s ‘picnic’ themed birthday sure was! We set out with mini picnic baskets filled with a wholesome, healthy lunch complete with a mini bagel sandwich, fresh, juicy cherries, and of course chocolate cake!
The highlight of our picnic decor was the personalized label that decorated each glass bottle, wishing my daughter a Happy birthday! It was the special detail that was just in her honor, making her feel extra excited and happy on her day!
Just as guests were arriving, I made delicious smoothies that were refreshing, healthy and naturally sweetened by organic strawberries.
Perfect Picnic Smoothie
• 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
• 1 banana, sliced into pieces
• 5 – 7 frozen organic strawberries
Add all ingredients. Puree in the blender of your choice. Find a quiet place to enjoy. Sip and set the ‘refresh’ settings on your body and soul!
One of my favorite moments of being a mother is creating birthday memories, celebrating the unique personality and character traits that each child illuminates our world with. I looked around at this sweet little picnic and felt my heart fill with gratitude and pride. Grateful for the blessing of my daughter and proud of the beautiful young girl she has become.
Life may not be a picnic, but take a moment to lay down the blanket of compassion, patience and acceptance. Unpack the basket of nurturing moments, life lessons and strength, soak up the sunshine, the memories, laughter and love.
