Simple Gift: Popcorn In A Jar

"Thanks For Popping By" popcorn favors #jar #tag #personalized #gift #thankyou
Happy January everyone! Since this is National Thank You Month, I thought it would be fun to share one of my favorite favor ideas for saying thank you to your friends, family, and co-workers. I first came across this idea over on Jac O’ Lyn Murphy, and thought it would make a perfect gift for January meetings, parties, and weddings because it’s simple to throw together, and lets your guests know how much you appreciate them.

If you want take it a step further, just pop the popcorn and season it a few hours before the event like Emily and Sarah have done from Boxwood Clippings. Then, create personalized tags from Evermine.com to adorn your jars and coordinate with the theme of your event. For my jars, I used burlap colored tags in the style Vintage Burlap.

And thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Lindsay
Gorgeous idea! It looks like Evermine don’t allow the 21 characters for the ‘thanks for popping by’ message. Help!
    Louise

    • Hi Louise,
While you’re personalizing your tags, you can just click the “design request” box and type out a request that our designers allow for a few more character spaces to complete your message. Just tell them that you’d like the text field to say “Thanks for Popping By” and they’ll fit it all in for you.

      Hope that helps!

  2. Hi,

I was wondering where I could get the containers, I have looked online but I’m not sure what is cost effective. Thanks!

    • I used a variety of Mason jars for my gifts. Generally you can buy a case or pack of them at your local grocery store in the canning or baking aisle. Hope that helps!

Sometimes a favour is as simple as packaging a budget-friendly favourite in a fun way – like the labels for these popping corn jars. By Evermine […]

  4. Hi Lindsay, I am writing an article for a magazine out of Wedowee, AL about wedding favors and I was wondering if I could use your images from this post? We would give credit were credit is due of course. If you could email me back with your answer I’d greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much, Sarah Elizabeth

  5. This might be a silly question, but do you use microwavable popcorn or stove top kind? Does it include directions for the guests? I am thinking of using this as a wedding anniversary celebration favor for my parents. Thank you in advance for your reply.

    • Hi Thessa! That’s not a silly question at all. We would recommend the stove top kind. You can get it in bulk at select stores.

We didn’t add directions, but you certainly can! Here is a text label that you can add directions to. Once you receive your labels, you can stick one on the top of each jar.

      Hope this helps!

  6. We are so excited to be using these for favors at a friend’s baby shower. And I’m placing the order for the labels today. Could you possibly tell me what size jars you used? Are they pint or 1/2 pint? Thanks so much for a great idea!!!!
