Tom & Jerry Holiday Drink
The Tom & Jerry is a classic holiday drink who’s origins date back to the 1820’s. Don’t be fooled by the name, as the drink is not named after the famous cartoon cat and mouse. Mugs of this rich, warm drink were a staple at countless 19th century saloons after the first snowfall of the season. As a Christmas tradition, bringing out the Tom & Jerry mugs lasted well into the 1950’s. The drink’s popularity faded with the changing of tastes, but lovers of classic cocktails are still making this drink today.
The batter for this classic drink is said to be rather tricky to make. I have yet to try it myself. Instead I make this recipe to serve at my holiday party every year.
Tom & Jerry Holiday Drink Mix
• 1 pound butter, softened
• 1 pound dark brown sugar
• 1 pound powdered sugar
• 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp nutmegPlace all ingredients in a large bowl,
mix with a spoon or for a few minutes with an electric mixer. Store in the freezer (it will remain soft). To serve: Put 1 heaping teaspoon of Tom and Jerry mix into an 8-ounce mug and, if desired, 1 – 1/2 jiggers of rum, brandy or whiskey. Fill the mug with boiling water, stir a few seconds until mixed. Top with a sprinkling of nutmeg.
As with any event, I love to find little ways to make the party personal and unique. When serving this drink I like to set out some personalized holiday coasters for my guests. This can be a great gift idea too as you can add names or a cheerful message. I love this coaster design as it gives my home an extra sparkle during the holiday season. So cozy up this winter and enjoy a hot Tom & Jerry drink.

I am looking for color custom drink coasters for a wedding with tables themed each a different color and on each coaster I would like a colored mixed drink recipe to match the color of their table of tulips. My Idea was to give out mini liquor bottles and coasters as gifts and they can make their mixed drink right at their table. would you be able to make this happen? not looking for imediate product but would need within the next 12 months.
Thanks!
