Two of a Kind: Dollar Favor Friday

Two of a Kind

$0.50 for 1 deck of cards
$0.50 for 1 label (if you order 75-120 labels)
Total per favor: $1.00

Personalized decks of cards are perfect as wedding favors for a casino theme or an Alice in Wonderland theme. Unfortunately, custom decks can cost up to $3 each! While this may be feasible with a small guest list, you can offer similar personalized decks at a third of the price.

I visited the dollar store and found a pack of playing cards (which you can also purchase online). These cards were individually wrapped with clear plastic, creating a sleek and clean look. If you can’t find these plastic-wrapped decks, you can also use boxed cards as well.

I then ordered a label in size 05, which fits perfectly on the playing cards. You can pick from several designs to best fit your wedding theme; I chose the style Garden Vines in Navy and Yellow because it complemented both the red and blue cards. Personalize your labels with you and your partner’s name, the date of your big day, and a card pun. We’ve listed a few of our favorite card puns below:

Josephine Guicciardi is the nom de plume of our creative Evermine blogger. With romantic connections to Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved” love letters, it is in keeping with the blog’s themes of love and joy. The great composer writes the famous words “ever thine, ever mine, ever ours” to a woman who remains a mystery to this day. Two of the most likely objects of his adoration are Josephine Brunsvik and Guilietta Guicciardi, and it’s from these two women that Josephine Guicciardi draws her persona.
