Fresh, simple, and live favors are everywhere, waiting for your inspiration to discover. We used pomegranates for a fall wedding favor idea, with the bold colors of fall – red and gold and the deep blue sky of evening.
You can use any fruit in the world! Bananas, oranges, kiwis, mangos, grapes, the adorable tiny pineapples that are so sweet, a basket of berries or cherries; apples, peaches, apricots…. all of these fruits would make beautiful, simple and easy favors. What a way to remember the event, by biting into a fresh, ripe and delicious piece of fruit.
In the fall, you have the opportunity to use leaves. Even if you live in a large city, you can go to the nearest park or tree-lined street. I chose leaves of which there was an abundance, in the rich reds and golds of fall. I pressed some of them in a book, and some just set them out to dry and curl however they wanted. Do both and you will have a choice of which you can use, or mix it up using a combination.
I used Astor style scallop tags to decorate the pomegranates. I tied them together with the dried leaves with a tiny scrap of ribbon, and placed them at each setting. Easy!
